Consultation on Registration of Social Workers

You are here: News & Publications » Social Workers Bye-Laws

We are currently developing a system of statutory registration among health and social care professionals. As part of this process, we are seeking your input and feedback on two bye-laws relating to the registration of social workers.

1) Application for Registration of Social Workers Bye-Law
2) Approved Qualifications for Social Workers Bye-Law

The closing date for receipt of comments is 5:00pm Thursday 9th December 2010.

Press Release: Coru launches public consultation on registration of Social Workers

How to Contribute:

We have prepared a number of questions on the draft bye-laws for you to consider.  There are several ways for you to give us your feedback:

  • Complete the questions online
  • Complete the questions in pdf and email the completed form to consultation@coru.ie
  • Print the questions in MS word and post it to Coru, 8 – 11 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2
  • Contact us on 01 6624775 to request a copy of the draft bye-laws and consultation form and return it to us at the address above
  • Visit Coru’s office (8 – 11 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2) to view a copy of the bye-laws and contribute your feedback in person.

What happens then?

Once the consultation period has closed the Social Workers Registration Board at Coru will analyse the responses, submissions and comments received and decide what action to take. Once the bye-law process is complete, we will publish a statement of outcomes on www.coru.ie including an overview of the consultation process.
