Applicants for registration will be required to verify that you have read, understand and agree to abide by the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics for your profession and will be required to sign a statutory declaration.
All registrants must abide by a statutory Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics.
Following a consultative process the Health and Social Care Professionals Council adopted a Framework for a Common Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics. This will be issued to all the Registration Boards and will form the basis of the profession specific codes that each Registration Board will make in consultation with stakeholders. These will include the general public, the profession to be regulated, their representative bodies and employers and will specify the code of conduct and ethics including standards of performance expected of registered persons in a clear and accessible manner.
The Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics will take the form of a statutory instrument and Bye-Law and will be submitted to the Minister for Health for laying before each House of the Oireachtas.
