Step 1 - Complete the Application Form
Applicants must complete each section of the application form. See application form and guidance notes for download below.

Personal details: name, surname, previous names, PPS number, nationality, language, address, email, other contact details.

Qualifications: details of your qualifications. See approved qualifications for Social Workers.

Language: If your first language is not English, you must satisfy the board that your knowledge of the language is sufficient for practising as a Social Worker in the Rep. of Ireland.

Fit and Proper declaration: you will be required to complete and sign a health and character declaration.

Garda Vetting: you will be required to submit a garda vetting application form. Please contact us and we will send this form to you.

Statutory Declaration: you will be required to sign a statutory declaration within 6 months of the date of your application. Please note your application will not be processed if you have not signed this in the presence of a Solicitor with a Practising Certificate, Commissioner for Oaths, Peace Commissioner or a Notary Public.

Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics for Social Workers: as part of the statutory declaration you will be required to verify that you have read, understand and agree to abide by the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics for Social Workers. See additional information on Code of Conduct here.
