Radiographers Registration Board
The Minster for Health appointed the Radiographers Registration Board on 24th January 2012.
The objective of the Radiographers Registration Board is to protect the public by fostering high standards of professional conduct, professional education, training and competence among social workers.
On 24th January 2012 the Radiographers Registration Board became the second of 12 boards to be appointed by the Minister for Health, under the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005.
The Radiographers Registration Board will be responsible for establishing the statutory register for Radiographers including Diagnostic Radiographers and Radiation Therapists.
The new process of regulation for Radiographers will allow members of the public to be confident that their radiographer adheres to professional Codes of Conduct and a fitness to practise regime. It will also strengthen the profession in ensuring the highest standards of professional practice among its members.
The Radiographers Registration Board at CORU will assume statutory responsibility for the assessment, approval and monitoring of training courses for the health and social care professions under the Act; establishing the code of professional conduct and ethics and standards of performance to which radiographers must adhere.
The Board will also be designated Competent Authority and will be responsible for recognition ofinternational qualifications.
There will be an individual Registration Board for each registered profession. More
