Imelda Finerty is a retired Social Care Professional - Monitor and Inspector for Children’s Residential Centres & Child Advocate.
Imelda has considerable knowledge of the evolution of childcare in Ireland. She qualified with a Diploma in Residential Care and has since earned a BA in Health Care Management, an MA in Child & Youth Care and a Diploma in Counselling Skills. Her experience includes 35 years working in Residential Social Care in a variety of roles: woring on the floor; as a Centre Manager; Service Manager; Child Advocate; Monitoring Officer; and Inspector for the registration of private children’s centres. She has experience working on committees for policy development; managing change; interagency working; and working in a regulated environment.
