ELECTION OF MEMBERS FOR APPOINTMENT TO THE
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS REGISTRATION BOARD (S.I. No 480 of 2016)

RETURNING OFFICER’S DECLARATION

Notice of candidates elected for each category

The notice of election of members for appointment to the Occupational Therapists Registration Board and request for nominations of candidates for three electoral categories was published in the Irish Times newspaper and on www.coru.ie on the 31 March 2017.

Members have been deemed validly nominated and elected in two (2) electoral categories (Category 1 and Category 2) as the number of nominations is less than or equal to the number of vacancies in those categories.

 

Category 1

The following candidate has been declared validly nominated and elected in Category 1: Registrants engaged in the practice of the profession.

Name Yadav, Jagdish Prasad
Registration No:  OT010540 County of Practice: Waterford

There remains two other members to be appointed by the Minister under Section 28(6) of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 (as amended) to compensate for the deficiency in the number of elected registrants.

Category 2

The following candidate has been declared validly nominated and elected in Category 2: Registrants who are engaged in the management of services provided by the profession.

Name Walshe, Gerard
Registration No:  OT018287 County of Practice: Sligo

There remains one other member to be appointed by the Minister under Section 28(6) of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 (as amended) to compensate for the deficiency in the number of elected registrants.

Category 3

No registrants have been nominated in Category 3: Registrants who are engaged in the education and training of persons in the practice of the profession. 

There remains one member to be appointed by the Minister under Section 28(6) of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 (as amended) to compensate for the deficiency in the number of elected registrants.

 

Details of each candidate validly nominated and the names of the registrants who proposed and supported the nominations are available here.

In accordance with the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 (as amended), the names of the above candidates will be forwarded to the Minister for appointment to the Occupational Therapists Registration Board.
