Social Workers Registration Board
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is one of the key mechanisms used to foster high standards of professional conduct and professional education, training and competence among registrants.
The Social Workers Registration Board Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics requires social workers to keep their knowledge and skills up to date. CPD is a mechanism for maintaining registrant’s professional knowledge and skills.
The Social Workers Registration Board, following consultation with its registrants and other stakeholders in 2019, have approved the:
- CPD Guidance Document that provides direction for registrants on the behaviours required to support compliance with your Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics
- CPD Support Document that offers tools that can help you as a registrant to build and demonstrate those behaviours and ultimately meet your CPD requirements under your Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics.
Profession specific CPD Audit Record exemplars have been produced by some Registration Boards. The purpose of these profession specific exemplars is to offer additional support to registrants when recording and demonstrating their engagement in CPD in the case of being called for audit.
The exemplars include a range of learning activities and examples of recording which we would expect to see from registrants and are available to view on the individual Registration Board pages
