Anne Lardner
From her roots in science with a BSc in Biochemistry and a PhD in Physiology from the University of Galway, to her extensive research stints at the University of Cambridge and Memorial University of Newfoundland, Anne Lardner has always been driven by a commitment to scientific integrity and excellence. After lecturing in Biochemistry and Physiology at Carlow IT (1995 – 1996) and TUD (1996 – 2000), she embarked on a career as a Medical Scientist in 2000.
Following locum positions in the NMH and the SVUH endocrinology laboratory, Anne secured a permanent role at SVUH’s Clinical Chemistry laboratory in 2002. Her leadership abilities soon elevated her to the position of Senior Medical Scientists in 2005. For over a decade, Anne directed student training and staff development, and she managed key laboratory. In October 2022, Anne was appointed Chief Medical Scientist in Clinical Chemistry at SVUH. Under her leadership, an ambitious laboratory upgrade was completed, and service offerings were expanded. Currently, Anne is spearheading several pivotal IT initiatives aimed at enhancing service efficiency and integration across disciplines.
