James Forbes is the Director of Social Care with ChildVision, the national education centre for young people with sight loss. In addition to sitting on ChildVision’s senior management team James is also an associate lecturer with the Technological University of Dublin, Tallaght campus, and a tutor attached to Trinity College Dublin’s School of Social Work and Social Policy, working on their post-graduate child protection and welfare programme. In addition to his social care qualifications, James has primary degrees in law (LLB) and in education (BA.Ed), a Masters in Education (MA.Ed) an MSc in Child Protection and Welfare and a Masters in Law (LLM). James also holds a Professional Diploma in Professional Regulation from University College Dublin. At present, he is studying for a PhD in law, having been awarded a scholarship from Dublin City University to do so.
Now in his second term on Council, James is also a member of the Social Care Workers Registration Board, the Appeals Committee, the Registration and Recognition Committee and the Nominations Committee, which he chairs.
