Catherine Byrne is Head of Strategy and Policy at CORU

As Head of Strategy and Policy with CORU, Catherine has responsibility for cross-operational strategic projects, including integrating new professions to CORU’s regulatory model. Catherine works closely with Council and Registration Boards in setting pre-registration education and training standards for health and social care professions, developing CPD support and guidance and professional standards for professional practice. Working collaboratively with Council and the Registration Boards, Catherine leads on research and policy development, with a particular focus on upstream regulation, risk-based approach to regulatory interventions and anticipating policy or new operational initiatives to meet CORU’s mandate. Catherine also is responsible for strategy development, planning and execution to ensure the successful implementation of annual business plans.
