Jessica Bartak-Healy
Jessica Bartak-Healy is a practising barrister having completed a Law Degree, a Masters in Medical Law and a Barrister-at-Law Degree. She works in many areas of the law, including medical law, criminal law, family law, licensing law, business and company law.
Ms Bartak-Healy is currently a board member of Deaf Enterprises Ireland, a registered charity which provides training and placement opportunities for Cork’s deaf and hard of hearing community. The Board is responsible for the running of the charity and it employs a general manager and twenty four deaf and hard of hearing employees to assist it. In her role with Deaf Enterprises Ireland Ms Bartak-Healy sits on the strategic and governance committees which ensure the charity is transparent in its operations and adheres to the Charity Governance Code, including required financial obligations. Ms Bartak-Healy also provides legal advice to the Board in all relevant matters.
Ms Bartak-Healy also has considerable experience in other private boards and committees. From 2017 to January 2021, she was secretary with the Cork Family Lawyers Association where she organised meetings, educational events and charity events. Currently Ms Bartak-Healy is a committee member of University College Cork’s Exams Appeal Committee and a member of the Development Committee of the Cork International Film Festival. Her work with University College Cork’s Exams Appeal Committee involves ensuring that fair procedures are adhered to when the Committee is deciding on examination appeals. As part of the Development Committee of the Cork International Film Festival she is tasked with developing relationships and fostering a positive image of the organisation within the community.
