Mary Conlon
Mary Conlon qualified as a Physiotherapist from Trinity College Dublin in 1993 after which she worked in a variety of roles in a large non - profit acute and community hospital group in Washington DC, including developing and delivering the physiotherapy service for a new sub - acute unit within the hospital group. On returning to Ireland she worked in the HSE Northwest where she has been lead physiotherapist in development and provision of new physiotherapy services in the areas of rehabilitation, care of older persons and dementia care in the community hospital sector within the region. Mary also worked for a number of years in the sports and private practice sectors in Dublin and Kildare, working with elite athletes and using innovative rehabilitation technologies.
Mary is an advocate for the physiotherapy profession within the HSE, and in the public realm, through involvement in and promotion of clinical research initiatives involving public - private partnerships. She has also served at national level on the Council of the ISCP and on the Professional Committee of the ISCP around statutory registration and professional development. Mary recently qualified with a Master of Science in Healthcare Leadership and Management through the Irish Management Institute (IMI) and UCC.
