Victoria Anderson

Dr. Vicki Anderson is a Lecturer and Programme Lead in the Department of Social Care and Early Childhood at South East Technological University (SETU), Waterford. Throughout her career, she has led the design, development, and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Social Care and related Humanities disciplines, and has supervised postgraduate research in the field.

 

As Programme Lead, Dr. Anderson has been central to the CORU accreditation process, ensuring programme alignment with the highest professional standards for social care education. She lectures extensively across Social Care and related programmes, with a particular focus on practice-based subjects and supporting students in developing professional competence and confidence.

 

She is deeply committed to improving the quality of social care service provision. Her research centres on access and inclusion within social care and education, with an emphasis on advancing professional practice and promoting service adaptation to meet diverse needs. In her current role, she is actively engaged in widening participation initiatives, serving as the designated support person for care-experienced students, and contributing to programme delivery for students with intellectual disabilities.

 

A registered Social Care Worker, Dr. Anderson is a member of Social Care Ireland and the Irish Association of Social Care Educators (IASCE), where she previously served as a Board Member of Social Care Ireland and as Vice Chair of IASCE. Prior to joining SETU, she worked in children’s residential care and disability services in both Ireland and Australia, gaining extensive hands-on experience across a range of practice settings.

 

Dr. Anderson brings a strong commitment to high-quality practice and education, alongside a critical understanding of the complexities of service delivery and the academic frameworks that underpin the social care profession.
