Rachel Delaney

Rachel Delaney completed a Bachelors in English Literature and Sociology in 2006 and worked in the private sector for a number of years. Following a return to university to carry out the Higher Diploma in Social Policy and subsequently the Masters in Social Work at University College Dublin, Rachel qualified as a social worker in 2013. After she graduated, she worked in a number of child protection roles in Ireland and in the UK.  Following a return to Ireland in 2016, Rachel worked in the charity sector in disability services with children and young adults, before joining an adult safeguarding team with the HSE.  In 2020 Rachel moved to her current position as a senior social worker in The Alders Unit (child sexual abuse service).

Rachel is very proud to be a member of the social work profession and sees huge value in the social work role, which takes account of the whole system as well as the individual, in whatever the setting. Rachel has particular interest in social justice, child and youth participation and advocacy
