Physiotherapist Referrer for Radiological Procedures
Application for Registration
The Physiotherapist Registration Board at CORU has opened a division of its register to allow for the referral of Radiological Diagnostic Procedures. Eligible Physiotherapist registrants may now apply to register in the Physiotherapists Referral for Radiological Diagnostic Procedures division of the register.
Eligibility to apply
Only those individuals who are currently registered with the Physiotherapist Registration Board can apply for the Physiotherapist Referrer division. Only those registrants who hold an approved qualification may make an application for this division.
Approved programme for registration in the physiotherapist referral radiological diagnostics division:
- Professional Certificate in Physiotherapist Referral for Radiological Procedures, National University of Ireland, University College Dublin
Important notice: If you received your qualifications outside the Republic of Ireland, you will need to contact the recognition of international qualifications team at registration@coru.ie
A registrant who holds registration within the Physiotherapist Referrers division is entitled to use the title ‘Physiotherapist Referrer’ and refer service users for radiological procedures.
How to apply
Please see the below table which details how to make your application for this division of the register in five easy steps.
1 | Log in to your registrant portal
| You will need to log into your Online Registrant Portal You will need to select ‘Enhanced Practitioner Application’ under the heading ‘Registration’ from the menu bar on the left hand side of the screen, then select the ‘Start New Application’ blue button at the bottom of the page. Please read the instructions on page one and confirm by clicking ‘Save and Continue’ on the bottom right corner of the screen. |
2 | Confirm your personal details
| These will auto populate from the personal details associated with your current registration details. Please review these, then click ‘Save and Continue’ on the bottom right corner of the screen. |
3 | Eligibility
| Confirm your eligibility by evidencing that you hold an approved qualification to join the Physiotherapist Referrer division. On this page, it will ask you if are on a college list. The colleges will typically email CORU with a list of graduates from the approved programme. CORU will use this to confirm you are eligible to apply. If you select ‘Yes’ you will be able to continue onto step 4 and would not be required to provide a certified qualification certificate. If you select ‘no’ you will need to select your qualification from the drop-down list, provide the date that it was awarded and upload a certified copy of the qualification certificate. |
4 | Payment of the fee
| The fee to apply to an enhanced division of the register is €50. On payment of the fee your application will be submitted to CORU for processing and approval. Please see the video provided on our website which shows and overview of the above four steps. |
